Lyndon Township lies in southeastern Michigan in the northwestern corner of Washtenaw County.

The area is well known for its rolling glacial terrain, woodlands, lakes and wetlands that are perfect for outdoor activities. Most of the township is either low-density housing, state-owned lands, small scale agriculture or high density lake areas

The majority of Lyndon Township residents have Chelsea mailing addresses, but some township residents may have Stockbridge, Grass Lake, Gregory or Pinckney mailing addresses.

Most properties lie in the Chelsea School District, but some lie in the Stockbridge School District.

Growth in Lyndon Township has been more limited than many of the townships in Washtenaw County, due to the vast amount of state-owned land as well as the underlying geology and terrain.

Imagine, a Township with such a tiny tax base is able to provide all these services to our residents because of inter-governmental cooperation with neighboring municipalities!

We have ownership – not contracts. You would be surprised at the tremendous amount of business that flows through our tiny offices in the course of providing services to you – our constituents and our neighbors!

Note: Government officials work on a part time basis.  See Township Board and Officials for office hours.
